Ndindi Nyoro Breaks Silence on Removal from Budget Committee

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has spoken out about his removal from the National Assembly Budget and Appropriations Committee, saying he was not consulted before the decision was made.

Nyoro, who was replaced by Alego Usonga MP Sam Atandi, told the press on Tuesday that he only learned about his ousting from media reports.

"There is no one who has ever called me to say anything about this. I read in newspapers about myself. I also don’t know," he said.

Following Nyoro’s removal, Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah suggested in Parliament that some MPs use their influence in committees to unfairly benefit their constituencies. Allegations emerged that Nyoro had allocated an outsized share of resources to Kiharu at the expense of other regions.

In response, Nyoro dismissed the claims and maintained that he harbors no ill will.

"I would not be provoked to answer evil with evil. Neither will I be provoked to answer an insult with insult," he stated. "I hold no grudge against anyone."

Nyoro’s removal and prolonged silence in national politics have fueled speculation about his shifting political fortunes. Once known for his close ties to President William Ruto, his political quietude has been linked to his association with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who was ousted in 2024.
