Controversial Preacher Arraigned in Nakuru for Alleged Sexual Assault


Prophet Peter Kimondo of the Christ Impact Church appeared before the Nakuru Law Courts on Monday, facing charges of rape and committing an indecent act, allegedly perpetrated in May 2022. The case was presented before Senior Resident Magistrate Ruth Kefa.


Kimondo was arrested in Nairobi on Sunday following a warrant issued against him and was subsequently transferred to Nakuru, where the alleged crime occurred.


During the court proceedings, Kimondo's legal team sought cash bail, but the prosecution opposed the request. Magistrate Ruth Kefa scheduled the bond application hearing for March 18, 2025.


The embattled preacher has been embroiled in controversy, with recent allegations of sodomy further fueling public outrage. In late February, members of the public raided his church in Ruiru amid growing accusations against him.


Authorities in Nakuru are investigating his alleged role in a 2022 case involving a young man named Dylan, who accused Kimondo of sexual assault.
